This is a landscape painting of the Guy Hill Schoolhouse, which currently sits on a history park in downtown Golden. This schoolhouse used to service the children and descendants of the gold miners, as well as the other frontier settlers in the Golden Gate Valley. A golden sunset at the end of the day, illuminating the castle rock in the background, was just too beautiful to pass up.
