I am often asked if this piece is a pseudo self portrait. The truth of the matter is, I really was a good student, almost never getting in trouble, and certainly never getting caught drawing in class. This idea originally started as a simple pen and ink drawing to commemorate my college graduation. Five years later I decided to flesh it out into a full color illustration. My brother in law was very eager to help model for the project, and the setting comes from the interior of the Guy Hill Schoolhouse.
