This is part
one in a series of twelve paintings on which I am currently working,
illustrating the life of Christ. As an artist, God has blessed
me with the ornate ability to render hands. I am more comfortable
painting and drawing the human hand than anything else. As I began
thinking about creating a series of artwork depicting the life
of Christ, I felt as if I should have to create each piece without
showing the face of Christ. I have never seen the face of Christ,
so nothing I could ever come up with would ever do it justice.
Much speculation has gone into trying to decide the profile Jesus,
and at times this becomes distracting. Instead, I decided to capitalize
on my strengths. Since hands are the universal symbol of servanthood,
it seemed obvious to create these paintings focusing on His hands.
