Painting
for Life is dedicated to illuminating the richest joys and truths
about living. We value life and strive to showcase this through our
art. We also paint for life, as we will be artists until the day that
we die. Finally, we paint for The Way, The Truth, and The Life, as
we dedicate all of our work to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
who gives us Life, as well as the gifts of which we share with you.
A portion of all sales will go to support the work of national and
international non-profit relief organizations.

Painting for Life was founded on August 25, 2004 by Benjamin Hummel
and Cherish Flieder, both artists, whose work can be enjoyed on this
site. Benjamin Hummel, suffers from chronic and debilitating illness,
frequently resulting in pain. Painting allows him to deal with his
illness and to focus on the blessings of life. Cherish Flieder grew
up helping her mother raise special needs foster children, and the
tender innoscence of childhood can be observed through her work.

Cherish Flieder
enjoys creating works of art that inspire and enrich the lives of
her audiences. Cherish has a passion to expand her research capabilities
to create conceptual and intriguing artwork. She studied fine art
(specializing in the areas of painting & drawing, design, and
illustration) and critical thinking at Rocky Mountain College of Art
& Design (BFA) and Colorado Christian University (BFA). Cherish
closely integrates her knowledge of many techniques including traditional
watercolors, oil paints, and pastels to create amazing original paintings.
The end results are always vibrant, lyrical, and delightful images.
Her award winning work has been showcased in many nationally distributed
books and magazines.
Benjamin
Hummel
is an accomplished artist who depicts the charms and nostalgia of
history in his detailed paintings. He is an experienced student of
history as he works with various historical organizations to dig up
the information necessary to recreate life as it once was. The way
Benjamin layers his humor and wit into his original oil paintings
has often been compared to the delightful images of Norman Rockwell.
Benjamin studied fine art in illustration at Rocky Mountain College
of Art & Design (BFA). Since then, his paintings have received
various awards from local institutions and have been featured in several
books and magazines.
